  2. Allow Standard User run application as admin

we have a shortcut that is calling a .exe file that requires admin rights by the UAC. I would like to be able to run the application without any admin rights or give the standard user admin rights only to this .exe. What we have done and failed.

    1. Application properties >> security >> Advanced >> Permissions >> Full Control

to local group A (which includes the user) and user by them self.
      1. Gave ownership of folder to local Group A.
      2. I looked in Regedit and I see the user, and they have full control for that application.
      3. have checked run as admin and unchecked too.
We do not want to use /savecred because of security risk. What other steps can we take to find a solution.

Help loading app requiring admin rights at standard user startup

    Windows Pro 21H1 x64

Trying to replace WinPatrol (RIP) as a realtime startup monitor I came across Autorun Organizer (Autorun Organizer 5.13: Free Windows Boot Acceleration) which seems to do what I want -- but only when run with Admin rights. Program consists of a service and an executable for the UI, when run from a standard account the service loads but the UI does not.

I tried setting the EXE to run as an Admin and putting a shortcut into Common Startup but that and similar things don't work. I even messed around with Security rights to no avail.

Finally I stumbled across this VBS script --

    Set WshShell = CreateObject("WScript.Shell" )
    WshShell.Run """C:\Program Files\Autorun Organizer\AutorunOrganizer.exe""", 0
    Set WshShell = Nothing
-- and while scripting is way above my pay grade it seems to do the trick when placed into Startup: the script ran and invoked the admin UAC window for the app as expected.

And then there was one almost comic problem: the UI seems to load BUT -- invisibly. I cannot see it or interact with it. Indeed the only things that make me believe it's running are (1) there it is as a background process in TaskMan; (2) because my mouse cursor happened to be within the area of the program window I saw a "click here to change to dark theme" balloon appear in the middle of my screen for no other conceivable reason.

So I'm stuck. I want to try to find a way to get this one program which requires admin rights to load at logon of my standard user account, with full functionality. Any advice appreciated, thanks as ever.

Run an app WITH FULL ADMIN rights on windows startup FOR A Standard User

How do make programs run at startup on standard user account?

Sorry for lately reply lads (or ladies lol) but between work and gym, didn't have a chance to mess about with things till last night.

    Okay, I've tried...
    1. Elevated shortcuts in shell:start up and shell:common startup
    2. Task schedular -- standard user account doesn't have rights to create tasks so I had to run the Schedular as admin and checked Run whether user is logged on or not
    3. Created a Local User Group and assigned it full permission to both programs' exe files and added the standard user account to said group
But none of them worked *Sad

If it helps, the programs I'm trying to startup are PIA_manager and MSIAfterburner. They both (seem to) need to run at elevated access level. Right now, I'm just starting them up manually as admin...doesn't llook like there's any way around this, is there?
