Why is run time on notepad only a bunch of gobble numbers

Keyboard typing is gobbled up at times

Microsoft updated me to 17120 rs4 180309-1616.

My issue:

During the day and at non-predictable times, the characters I type on my keyboard get gobbled up by Windows. Mouse seems to work but no character input from my keyboard. The gobbling of characters last between 30 seconds and 2 minutes. When the gobbling
ends, some of the characters I've typed are pasted in to the text windows but VERY SLOWLY. Sometimes windows will decide to take a character and repeat it. Sometimes it is just one character that windows decides to gobble. When that happens, it is always the
first character of a word. At other times, windows takes my typed character and gobbles it up and then pastes hundreds of them into my file. Yes, hundreds! If the character is a Del, the work is destroyed. This makes using my PC unpredictable.

The keyboard is in good condition and it is a software issue, so please don't ask if it is hardware.

 

Windows Updated(16299.309).KB4088776 Restart is required to complete.

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Trouble saving voicemail number

To access my voicemail it is my phone number, a pause and 4 digit pin.



I did the following steps:

• Turned off default voicemail number
• Added a , (for pause) at end of my phone number
• Added the 4 digit pin

I get the following error message We're having trouble saving your voicemail number right now. Try again later.



Any suggestions on how to correct this?
