    It slowed my directory walking software to below a crawl. There are two of these. What are they for and do I need them?

    How to clean files in C:\Windows\servicing\LCU

    My oops. Didn't catch that in your post that you had just deleted them as I suggested. Thanks for the reply.

    LCU files missing, know directory I need, how do I get it back?

    All of the articles I can find online regarding LCU files are "Can I delete them?"

    I cannot install the latest windows 10 cumulative update because there is a missing LCU directory structure at \windows\servicing\lcu. Normally there are the previous 3 LCU directories there, but now there is only one. So I know the name of the missing directory, from CBS log file, but I cannot find anywhere how to download this directory back. I have no idea how the other 2 directories were deleted. Please do not suggest anything involving system restore. I have tried to use it in the past and found it to only cause more problems without solving any, sorry.

    The 2004 update removed this folder. C:\Windows\servicing\LCU content, or will it return after the next update?
