Running a Paid Version of Windows 10 on MacBook Pro

Hi there, I am currently running the free version of Windows 10 on my MacBook Pro. It all works just fine, other than keeping on advising me that I need to 'Activate' Windows. My question is, if I purchase Windows 10, will I still be able to run the paid version on my MacBook Pro as I do today? Thank you!!

    :)

Windows on Macbook Pro using Bootcamp

    Hi,

You need support software (drivers) installed with Boot Camp to use Windows 10. This software is automatically downloaded when you use Boot Camp Assistant. Boot Camp supports 64-bit versions of Windows 10 Home and Windows 10 Pro when used with a supported
Mac. Here are the list that supports Windows 10:

    • MacBook Pro (2012 and later)
    • MacBook Air (2012 and later)
    • MacBook (2015 and later)
    • iMac Pro (2017)iMac (2012 and later)
    • Mac mini (2012 and later)
    • Mac mini Server (Late 2012)
    • Mac Pro (Late 2013)

We also suggest that you check and follow the steps shared by Andre Da Costa on this
thread on how to setup Windows 10 on your Mac using Boot Camp.

Let us know if you need further assistance.

Apple Could Discontinue 17-inch MacBook Pro

They will alienate a big part of their installed base if they do that. Many professionals loyally plunk down big numbers for Mac Pros and Macbook pros. It will engender tremendous ill will. The good news is, that might be the incentive for competitors to step up and develop equivalent NON WINDOWS products. The pros will not run Pro Tools on Windows.

This is why they're getting rid of the 17" line.

They aren't really alienating a "large" user base by any means.

100% of everyone I have ever seen with a 17" macbook pro, only has the 17" model because they weren't the ones that paid for it.

Hardware wise, the only advantage is 2" physical real estate and screen resolution. Res. can easily be fixed on the 15" line (and IMO would be nice if they did bump it up a notch.)
