Windows 10: running calibre (great ebook manager) on a LINUX guest / host

Hi folks

If you have a Linux guest / host with a GUI then it's simple to run Calibre -- really great FREE ebook manager and converter.

as roou (su) type following command

"# wget -nv -O- https://download.calibre-ebook.com/linux-installer.sh | sh /dev/stdin"

Ignore the quotation marks at start and end of the command - they are there to stop url getting translated into text etc.


then you'll be able to start calibre and the interface will be set up. Same interface as windows but I tend to run mainly Linux hosts though.





Note for distros like ubuntu where you can't get to su command directly simply type sudo su and then you are in su mode

Hi there

If you like e-books - great piece of Free software which also converts to all ebook formats so if you want MOBI / EPUB etc etc.

64 bit version for windows also available -- and it also works on LINUX (easily installable too) - running on CENTOS 7 shown here. Also works absolutely fine on Windows 10 too.

Hi folks
the excellent Calibre E-book management program is available (free) in version 3.25 - Windows and Linux.

calibre - E-book management

Excellent program -- converts also all e-book formats so you can convert epub to MOBI / AZW3 for kindles etc and in reverse.

If you are an ebook and e-reader fan this program is a must.
