    Hello,I've recently installed windows 11 and decided to use the error checking tool which as far as I know has similar function to the CHKDSK commands, correct me if I'm wrong just to double check, no errors were found but I noticed after running it about 500mb of storage had been taken up. I restarted my laptop to see if the files would be deleted but the storage space was still the same. I ran it again to see if it was error checking causing this, and it happened again, this time only taking up about 100mb. Can anyone tell me if this is normal and if these files will be deleted/where they

    Storage in C drive is filling on its own

    I'm on Windows 10 Home (version 2004) and facing this strange behavior since yesterday that the storage in C drive is automatically getting filled. I've cleaned up unnecessary files using storage sense & tried deleting the restore point as well. However,
    after deleting the restore point, I've gained some space but it's only for some time as the space started filling again.

    As you are unable to delete the temporary files and free up the storage space on Windows 10 Operating System, try the below and check if it helps.

    Step 1: I suggest you to refer to the below Microsoft article about:
    Free up drive space in Windows 10

    Step 2: I suggest you to check the storage capacity of each of the drives in
    Windows Explorer.

    • Press Windows key, type This PC, select it.
    • Right click on each of the drives and click on Properties.
    • Also, you can perform Disk Cleanup from the
      Step 2       as well.
    • Select the files to be delete on each of the drives.

    C drive space filling

    My C drive space in Windows 10 is filling up rapidly. I tried deleting CBS files but that weren't occupying much space.

    I used Treesize but not able to make sense of which file is occupying unnecessary space and which file to delete.
