Windows 10: Running diskpart on startup using GPO throws COM service error

Hi Experts,I'm trying to create a Windows Server 2025 template for use in cloud. I have added an startup script called extendvol.bat to "Startup" GPO which runs diskpart tool to extend the system volume to the maximum amount of space available on the disk when computer is starting up. However, the script doesn't work. I have accomplished this goal on Windows Server 2019 and 2022 just the same way and it works fine on those versions of Windows Server. However, when I do this for Windows Server 2025, it doesn't work. I have added the script to the following path in GP - Computer Configuration -&

@Samurai - Thanks for the suggestion, but how does this recommendaiton work with an already existing service? Because the service is already listed in the services list, it just refuses to start when set to "Automatic" when I startup or restart the computer. By the looks of the "runaservice" download, it will create a whole new service in the services list, as if I don't currently have one.

A simple solution but one that works in most circumstances!

1. Click Start, click Run, type services.msc, and then click OK.

2. In the list of services, right-click Automatic Updates, and then click Properties.

3. In the Startup type list, click Automatic, and then click Apply.

4. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.

5. Right-click Background Intelligent Transfer Service, and then click Properties.

6. In the Startup type list, click Manual, and then click Apply.

7. If Service status is set to Stopped, click Start, and then click OK.
