Windows 10: Running Hyper-v on Windows 10 PRO, do I need Core license or do I have limits?

I have Windows 10 Pro on my computer. I want to activate Hyper-V and run a few VMs on it a few different OS. Do I need any licensing to be compliant, are there any number of VM "licenses" that comes already with windows 10 PRO like Windows Server Standard that is already licensed for 2 VMs?I'm asking this both for personal use and for business use.

Hyper-V is a part of windows server and windows 10 pro- I assume you ment the WIndows on Hyper-V?

In licensing terms each virtual copy is a running windows and must have a valid license for each instance. If you have Windows licenes than you can use a Key and activate the copy - if not you'll have to buy one.

Hyper-v in Win10 Pro - License

Hi,

I'm running a workstation with Windows 10 Pro, and I have installed the Hyper-V feature. Can I use the same license key on the VM/Guest as I have for the physical/host machine?? Or do I need to buy another Win 10 license?

Hyper-V

Only Pro or Enterprise versions can run Hyper-V, in addition to the other requirements listed at the link I provided earlier.
