Windows 10: Running Windows 10 on Mac OS Parallels - License Question

Had Win 10 Pro installed in a boot camp partition but deleted it. Set up Win 10 Pro in a Parallels WM on the same laptop to run Windows / Mac OS side by side.Can't activate the new Parallels Win 10 as it doesn't find my Macbook Pro in MS Account devices to use the original digital license. Safe to assume the new Win 10 Pro install requires a new license even if I'm not using Boot Camp anymore ? MacBook Pro 2019 running VenturaThanks

Parallels is a popular virtualization application for Mac, that lets you run Windows 10 in a window on your Mac.

Its commercial software, which means, you have to purchase a license for it.

There are alternatives such as the free Oracle VirtualBox.

You also have to purchase a license for Windows 10 if you don't have one already.

Transfer Windows OS from one Mac to and Mac Using Parallels

I bought a new Mac computer and I would like to transfer my Windows OS from my old Mac to the new Mac. I am using Parallels to run both OS. Can you tell me how to do this?

 

Activation Issue on a Mac via Parallels

I've been running Windows 10 on a Mac via Parallels and just migrated to a new Mac, successfully transferring all data including Win OS.

I immediately upgraded to Win 11 which is running ok but I am unable to activate the upgrade by entering my original purchase license product key...."We can't activate on this device because you don't have a valid license or key..."

Will I need to repurchase?
