Windows 10: running windows 8.1 on a Dell Inspiron 5748 IntelR coretm i5-4210U CPU @ 1.70GHz 1.170 GHz 8 GB

need to upgrade windows from 8.1 to a supported version Laptop Dell Inspiron 5748 RAM 8 GB Intel I5-4210U 64-bit operating systemwhat are my upgrade choices at this current date any are any of them free of charge

cant even do a system restore on here .... I upgraded when window 10 came out on top of windows 8.1..

 

Will 8 GB make WIN10 run ok on a Core 2 Duo?

Microsoft lists the Windows 10 minimum hardware requirements as:

• Processor: 1 gigahertz (GHz) or faster processor or SoC.
• RAM: 1 gigabyte (GB) for 32-bit or 2 GB for 64-bit.
• Hard disk space: 16 GB for 32-bit OS 20 GB for 64-bit OS.
• Graphics card: DirectX 9 or later with WDDM 1.0 driver.
• Display: 800x600

But I reccomend

1. processor: 2.5 GHz Dual Core (Faster is better)
2. RAM :- 4 GB (2018 Atleast 8 GB)
3. HDD 320GB
4. GPU :- any (Nvidia Tiatan v is the Best)
5. Display :- 1920X1080 (Full HD)

 

Ram upgrading: 4+4=8 gb or 4+8=12 gb?

I am using dell inspiron 5447

windows 10, 4 gb ram installed originally,

Intel i5, 2.4Ghz.

What would be better choice 4+4=8 gb or 4+8=12 gb?
