Windows 10: Runtime Broker | Groove Music 25gb Virtual Memory

Test conditions, (all achieved basically the same results)
---Pinned to Start, Live Tile on
---Pinned to Start, Live Tile off
---Not Pinned to start

I restarted my PC (also verified my virtual memory was flushed) between every run. Since other apps would have issues with virtual memory until restart. This only happens with "Groove Music" application that is a native windows 10 app. Every time runtimebroker has crashed, normally taking down most of my open applications (such as Firefox)

I've tried clouder!(Soundcloud player) without any problem at all, works 100% fine without any issue. I've also dl'ed another 3rd party music player on the windows 10 app store that could deal with local files and also did not run into any issues(as another test). This was to verify that as far as audio apps go it seems to be isolated to Groove Music. Clouder has live tile functionality~ just for reference.

Is anyone else having this problem? Has anyone found a fix yet that doesn't involve completely disabling runtimebroker?

groove music <> runtime broker

when I open groove music runtime broker start to using high CPU , it's just related to groove music , when I select end task runtime broker it automatically stars again! I disabled time broker service but does't effect .

how can I fix it?

Sorry. Been there done that. I am assuming Groove music requires runtime broker since it only uses a lot of cpu when I run groove. If I stop runtime broker while groove is playing it crashes after a while.

 

You can edit the Registry to disable "Runtime Broker", but this will also prevent Microsoft Store Apps from running.

Runtime Broker is a service called Time Broker, which can be disabled through editing the registry.

Right-click on the Start Menu Icon. Go to RUN and type regedit.exe and select OK.

Find the following entry:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TimeBroker] "Start"=dword:00000003

Change the 3 to a 4.

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\TimeBroker] "Start"=dword:00000004

4 is Disabled, 3 is Manual and 2 is Automatic startup.

Before editing, the original value was 3. Set to 4 to disable. Just change the 3 to a 4 through the MODIFY menu selection, exit regedit and reboot your system.

 

I would of already but I actually like alot of these apps! Otherwise I would of been back to the blackbox shell post haste. I am a sucker for eye candy I guess, when it does most of what I need it to do at least.
