Windows 10: Ryzen 5600x and Asus Strix B550-E Not Booting

Hi Guys. My second machine was working perfectly yesterday but when I powered it on this morning it hung forever at the Asus boot screen for like 10 minutes before finally booting. I am not sure why its taking so long.

I have been trying various things through-out the day with no luck. I have updated the bios to 2006and changed the memory slows and just now tried older memory. All to no avail.

I wonder if something on the motherboard has died.

Did you turn the computer OFF. Step 4. ?

I'm assuming "shut down" means off.

Nah bro... it says shut down.


Look at the stuff in the squares...










Somewhere else in your manual, it says the USB stick needs to be one single partition, FAT32, and the only thing on it is the renamed BIOS file.


The top RED square clearly says shut down the computer, and the bottom RED square clearly says...

Do not take out the USB stick, power on the computer or clear the CMOS until after the Flash back is done.



And btw, if you just put one RAM stick in...you should put it in slot #2 counting away from the CPU.

It would be a lot easier to just put the 5600X in the Asus Strix x570-E motherboard. *Biggrin
You can flash that board from within the BIOS. *Smile

Well you have a BIOS flash back button. maybe try with the CPU out. there's a motherboard BIOS flash LED that will let you know if it's working.









It's weird....you have the hardware for a BIOS flashback, but I don't see that in your manual.
