Windows 10: Sabrent CRW-UINB Multi Card Reader won't read since Feature update to Windows 10, version...

Installed Feature update to Windows 10, version 1809 amd64 2019-03 on 5/33/19, and since that time, my Sabrent CRW-UINB card reader has not functioned. When inserting a card (microSD or SD) windows explorer just goes into a scan that never ends. Drivers installed are very old (6/21/2006) and the card reader slots show up as disc drives in device manager. The USB port on the multi card reader functions, but it no longer reads cards, which it did before the Feature update to Windows 10, version 1809 amd64 2019-03 install.


The drivers installed by Windows are:

Generic-Compact Flash USB Device

Generic-MS/MS-Pro USB Device

Generic-SD/MMC USB Device

Generic-SM/xD-Picture USB Device


Each of the above devices has a drive letter assigned to them.


I have tried uninstall and reboot of the devices as well as searching for updated drivers without success.


Can anyone help me get this device back up and running under Windows 10 Home 64?

Issue with multi-card reader

Good afternoon all,

I am in a curious position: I recently installed an Intact all-in-one USB 3.0 multi-card reader into my PC running Windows 10 and Windows 7 in a dual boot setup. Windows 10 is the primary OS and is installed onto an SSD and Windows 7 is installed onto a
HDD. The card reader connects to the motherboard directly via the dedicated 19 pin connection point (image: http://techreport.com/r.x/2011_8_16_Fractal_Designs_Define_R3_midtower_chassis/usb3-620.jpg) with power taken from the PSU.

The issue: when the card reader is connected Windows 10 fails to boot and displays the 'A required device isn't connected or can't be accessed' blue screen. I attempted the automatic repair with my Windows 8 disk with nil joy, however I was able to boot
into Windows 7 where the card reader was able to successfully install and I was able to read and write to an SD card with it.

The short term fix: I uninstalled the card reader (read: yanked the cable out) and was able to boot into Windows 10 successfully. From there I re-connected the card reader with the computer on and booted into Windows 10 where it was able to successfully
install the drivers and again I was able to read and write to the SD card in Windows 10. To see if this might have fixed the blue screen on boot issue I rebooted however the same blue screen with the same error appeared. It appears the only way I can use this
is if I plug in the card reader whilst booted into Windows 10.

Has anyone else come across this issue before or know of any way for me to be able to boot into Windows 10 with the card reader connected?

Any help is muchly appreciated.

 

Windows 10, won't read Sony Memory Sticks from a Sony MRW 62E multi card reader

Hello I upgraded to windows 10 from windows 7 maybe 6 mouths ago. Windows 10 is good but I can't make windows 10 work with my USB Sony MRW62E multi card reader, windows 7 always worked no problem. Trouble shooting couldn't identify problem, Windows 10
sees the reader, control panel list it as unspecified Media R/W and working ok and list the number if items on memory stick but you can' open it. ??? Thank you Ed
