Safe to Move These Folders to New User Profile?

I've already made several posts in the forums about a virus I had and the feedback has been very helpful so far. I have another question now. I had to create a new User in Windows because the virus corrupted my original account. When I went to delete my old account, Windows could not delete it due to several folders. I'm wondering if it's safe for me to copy the contents of these folders over to my new profile, and then delete the old files one-by-one so I can try to remove the old profile again. Here are the folder locations in question:C:\Users\adria\AppData\Local\Microsoft\TokenBroker\

    :)

Need help with changing name of user profile folder

I would like to change the name of the user profile folder. I have found and tried a few methods including one from Microsoft forums. None of them worked. I kept getting something about my User needing to sign out and back in again that there was a problem, so I would sign out and back in again and it didn't work. I think the reason is because Windows created a TEMP user and would log me in under that so there would be a folder named C/User/TEMP and still the original named folder of C/User/myuserfolder.

I found this on the forums here: Change Name of User Profile Folder in Windows 10 | Windows 10 Tutorials

The instructions are very similar to what I have tried. In the above post John W used safe mode. Do I need to go through all the steps again as listed in the post and then go into safe mode, or can I just use safe mode to change the folder name?

Also, are there newer instructions for how to do this with updates to Windows since the above thread was posted over a year ago?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Judy

Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community. .

    d. Now log off from the current user and try to login to the administrator account that is enabled.

Safe to Move These Folders to New User Profile?

Move Users Folder Location in Windows 10

If not the best way to do that but at least the way I recommend:

    • "Empty" your user profile folders as much as you can, copying documents, pics, videos, music and all other personal data from all user profiles to external HDD. As following steps require you to relocate Users folder two times, the less data is left in user profile folders, the faster the relocation process. Important: Leave system folder AppData for each profile intact, do not empty / move its content!
    • Reverse the relocating, doing exactly as told in tutorial Method Two but this time relocating Users folder back to C: drive
    • Shut down the PC, replace the disk where you had Users relocated
    • Mount the new disk, boot to Windows, assign new disk the same drive ID letter than the old one had
    • Again, do as told in Method Two, now relocating Users to new disk
    • Restore the backed up personal user data from external drive to respective folders under each user profile
