Windows 10: Safely delete everything including OneDrive from old PC but keep all OneDrive files in cloud

Bought a new PC-Win 11. OneDrive is installed and all works/syncs fine. Have an old PC-Win 10. OneDrive is still on it and all works/syncs fine. I want to reset the old Win 10 PC and no longer use OneDrive on that PC.Based on what I've read my plan is to do the following below. Is this a sound plan?Everything below pertains to old Win 10 PC and assumes new Win 11 PC will be unaffected.On old PC..."Free up space" on all folders thereby removing all local 1D files.Unlink OneDrive Uninstall OneDrive app I read where someone was unable to do this?? Right click on the app and one of the properties has an option to not automatically start it. Uncheck, restart the computer, and it should stop. If you want to go another step further, find the OneDrive app in the start menu, right click on it and uninstall.

If that is still insufficient, there is a batch uninstaller for OneDrive available online. I can copy the code here if you need it.

 

Onedrive. PC onedrive deleted. Will the files online disappears.

I accidentally deleted the onedrive folder on my pc. When onedrive syncs will the online files be deleted or will they be still in the cloud?

 

OneDrive - Bait and switch (but to what?)

Google Drive offers 17GB free, I see no discernible reason to bother with OneDrive's crippled storage capacity.

EDIT: For a painless transfer, I used microsoft's SyncToy to do a daily backup of DropBox/OneDrive items nightly at 4PM to a Google Drive folder. Once I had finished setting up my phone's automatic backup and had my work flow transferred, I just stopped the auto-backup script and uninstalled OneDrive/DropBox and carried on using Google Drive. Switching cloud storage service isn't remotely arduous.
