    new samsung 860 ssd magician software 5.21 disables ahci

    took back the 860 to best buy and got another 850 evo works just fine. Also went to Samsung support and their message boards . Found others who had same ahci deactivated problems due to lack of upgrading their controller drivers for the 860 to work properly.Thanks
    for your suggestions but let Samsung fix this Richie

    SATA optical drive becomes useless in AHCI mode?

    I'm not even using SATA 5/6. I origionally tried that, but they must only become active once Windows boots or something, cause stuff didn't show up in the BIOS when I tried putting it there. I put my OS drive there once and it wasn't even detected.

    There's a discrepency somewhere with my SATA 5/6 ports. In the BIOS, it says there' for AHCI -OR- RAID only, but in the manual, it says it's for AHCI+RAID mode only.

    AMD Non-Raid AHCI drivers?

    is there any xp-32bit ahci driver that actually works on the 790gx? i have to run my samsung sata in ide mode. if i use the amd ahci raid driver, the hd disappear completly from the controller list in AOD,start to work in raidxpert, and otherwise run normal, but no performance increase is yielded... any solutions?*Smile Samsung 860 SATA III not detected in RAID mode but detected in AHCI :)
