Windows 10: Samsung 970 EVO - Event ID 50, 51, and 24641 Troubleshooting

Hello All,

I have two Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe SSD installed in my system. I am using the current version of the Samsung NVMe driver at the time of this writing which is v 3.3. These events only appear when the system is booted from a shutdown state or restarted. If you didn't go into event viewer you would think the system is operating normally. There are no error dialogs or unexpected problems with the system otherwise. The diagnostic scans come back that the drives are working normally and so I am trying to get some advice on how to troubleshoot further. The event IDs are pointing to both drives and to me that indicates this is likely not a drive issue since it is very unlikely both drives would be failing at the same time. Here are the event IDs and the disk associated. TIA

Event ID 50 NTFS - No Disk Specified

{Delayed Write Failed} Windows was unable to save all the data for the file . The data has been lost. This error may be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try to save this file elsewhere.

Event ID 51 Disk - Disk 0

An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk0\DR0 during a paging operation.

Event ID 24641 BitLocker-Driver - Disk 1

An unexpected error was encountered attempting to retrieve the BitLocker volume master key during restart.

Samsung SSD 970 EVO M.2

Hi

I recently installed Samsung SSD 970 EVO M.2 on my Dell Inspiron 3268. Using Samsung Data migration tool, I copied my OS to SSD and wanted to make SSD as my boot drive, but is not getting shown up in BIOS as boot option.

I can see PCI as loaded in BIOS, can also see SSD in the maintenance of BIOS.

What am I missing?

The Samsung 970 PRO and EVO are designed based on the M.2 form factor standard and with the latest PCIe Gen 3×4 lane interface. The 970 series maximizes the potential of NVMe bandwidth, delivering unparalleled performance for processing large volumes of data, including 3D, 4K graphics work, high-end games and data analytics.

The 970 PRO enables sequential read speed of up to 3,500 MB/s and sequential write speed of up to 2,700 MB/s1, while the EVO features sequential read speed of up to 3,500 MB/s and sequential write speed of up to 2,500 MB/s2. The sequential write speeds represent an enhancement of up to 30 percent over the previous generation3, thanks to Samsung’s latest V-NAND technology and the newly designed Phoenix controller. The 970 EVO, in particular, utilizes the Intelligent TurboWrite technology, which uses a large buffer size of up to 78GB4 to enable faster write speeds.

In addition to the advancements in performance levels, the 970 PRO and EVO deliver exceptional endurance and reliability. Featuring a five-year warranty5, or up to 1,200 terabytes written6 – 50 percent higher than those provided for the previous generation7 – the 970 PRO and EVO are built to last. The Dynamic Thermal Guard technology safeguards against overheating by automatically monitoring and maintaining optimal operating temperatures, while a heat spreader and new nickel-coated controller further lower the SSD temperatures.
