  2. Most current Windows 10 uodate (Jan 22, 2018)

    Dear Xilee,

What I don't understand is when I attempt to update WINDOWS 10 directly via the Internate or when I create a USB to do the same, then, at the end of a lengthy process, I get the message: You Cannot install WINDOWS 10 on a USB drive. My computer is a TOSHIBA
KIRA with a SAMSUNG 1 TB SSD m.SATA. That is not a USB! However, both the internet and the downloaded (on USB) will install FRESH SSD SAMSUNG 1 TB SSD m.SATA.

    I am really snookered!

    Best regards,

  3. Windows 10 home

I had windows 8.1 professional on my Samsung series 9 laptop....one of those things where you don't have a windows product key

I have done the upgrade to windows 10 but it has installed the home edition.

I really need remote desktop as I use that at least 20 times a day.

How do I get windows 10 professional?

    Brendan

Sadly but true. Intel tablet drivers are still not totally 100% compatible. Lots of wifi driver issues by Qualcomm and others.

Driver issues happen with every new version of Windows. 10 is no different but I still prefer 10 over 8 or 7.

After a almost a year as a released product and the significant preview ahead of that, Samsung has dropped the ball for drivers. For anyone with one of their Smart TVs, this is no surprise -- their software writing abilities are the worst.

Bla bla bla... 90% of the drivers are still Windows 8.1 drivers, or even Windows 7 drivers and were just copy paste, msot work fine, some need adjustments though which didn't happen yet even after 1 year, so please don't tell nonsense like that. You always see this in bsods happen when it says win81 driver.

They're just covering their ass because they take ages to check compatibility on any software they write or drivers their products use.

This way they just say 'well we told you not to...' when stuff doesn't work.

i have 8 Samsung monitors and TVs, love them all, some are over 10 yrs of age and work perfectly.

Hey, if they don't endorse Windows 10 that is their prerogative. I find it informative and respectful to their customers to let them know of any possible problems. They aren't saying Windows 10 is bad, just that it doesn't fit with their products. So to bad mouth them, for that, I feel is out of place.

Hmmm.. Samsung - world's largest android vendor - windows 10 apps - no conflict of interest there is there?

Shame on Samsung - they have had nearly two years to develop suitable drivers.

I have Windows 10 installed on a Toshiba laptop more than 7 years old. Everything is running perfectly, including 5GHz wi-fi. Only Windows-related problem is the BIOS doesn't support UEFI boot. Also, startup is a little slow even with SSD since the laptop predates SATA III. But there are worse problems with Samsung?

All of this is likely out of Samsung hands. All the components are usually 3rd party. Like most have an intel chipset, realtek sound card, nvidia/amd/intel video card, perhaps marvell sata chipset too. These 3rd parties need to release the drivers not Samsung.
