    samsung drive manager uninstall issue


    I connected a Samsung phone in the past and it installed a Samsung Drive Manager. This screen pops up multiple times per day. We don't even have samsungs any longer. When I try to uninstall it I get a message saying that I "this runs on XP/Vista, Windows 7. Please check your OS". And it won't uninstall. Any ideas how to do this?

    It sounds like the issue is with the Samsung Drive Manager software and not the drive itself.

    In the following topic the poster received information from Seagate Support saying the Samsung AutoBackup software is not compatible with Windows 10:

    Samsung M3 Portable Hard Drive doesn't like Windows 10

    Windows 10 is not listed as a supported operating system in the download link:

    Samsung Drive Manager | Seagate

    You could try uninstalling Samsung Drive Manager and then reinstall the latest version of Samsung Drive Manager using "Compatibility Mode" and choose a previous operating system.

    However the software itself may have to be updated for Windows 10.

    Hello Anak –

    Appreciate your detailed return. Your added steps really helped.

    Assuming I did the steps correctly, this is where I am now.

    Screenshot 12 shows my CD Disc shortcut on my desktop.
    Screenshot 10 shows the CD Drive shortcut listed in the “Send to” listing.
    Screenshot 11 shows the “Send to” listing after the steps were taken, but the CD drive name is not listed.

    So, it appears the steps did not work for me. And, I did try the steps, “If it still won’t do ……” and still no luck.

    What do you think?
