Windows 10: Samsung Expert X40 keyboard problem

In December, my Samsung Expert X40 had an update to Windows 10, and after that, 70% of the keys no longer work. I tried everything, from keyboard options in Windows, formatting, regedit, CMD, cleaning, but nothing works. Tired, I bought a new original keyboard, and even after changing it, nothing changed. The only thing that bothers me is that when I press two "broken" keys at the same time, a random letter appears. For example: O and S don't work alone, but when I press them at the same time, O + S = H... I asked for help on reditt but no one answered, I looked on YouTube but no one teaches..

I suggest you to check if the issue persists when you connect another keyboard to your system.

If the issue is with the keyboard, then suggest you to update the keyboard drivers by following the steps below.

• 
  Press Windows key + X and select
  Device Manager from the list.
  
• 
  Expand ‘Keyboard’ from the list.
  
• 
  Right click on the driver and select ‘update driver software’ and follow the prompts.

Samsung 9 Series Keyboard Backlight Issue


I was struggling with this over the past week when I finally upgraded and wanted to pass along how I fixed the problem. I found this PDF on the Samsung site and downloaded the Samsung SW Update listed in step 3.

Once I installed that all the functionality of my function keys returned. Hope this helps some sad late adopted like me.

• Try a different keyboard (or an external USB keyboard in case of a laptop)
• See if the problem persists with the on-screen keyboard (osk.exe)
