Windows 10: Samsung Magician / Samsung SSD 840 series

I get above error; I've updated the intel rapid storage driver and asmedia sata controller driver.
My motherboard is an asus z97 deluxe. Help is appreciated; thx !

Intel RST not running after installing Samsung Magician

Hi,

I am using a Samsung SSD 840 Pro 512gb on my laptop with latest Windows 10 updates. I installed Samsung Magician. I just realize that Intel RST is not running. Is that normal? Is it because only 1 SSD software could be used? So should I uninstall Magician
or Intel RST or leave them? Thanks for your help.

 

Computer Freezing after Installing Windows 10 Creators Update (1703)

I had the same issue: freeze after a few minutes after boot.

And I have the same drive as you:

Samsung SSD EVO 840

So the combination of EVO840 and Windows10 Creator's Update is what does it.

I downloaded Samsung Magician:

SSD Tools & Software | Download | Samsung V-NAND SSD

The first attempt on upgrading the firmware was thwarted by another freeze :-(

But when I repeated the procedure, the firmware upgrade succeeded.

Now running with new firmware on EVO 840, and so far no freeze.

Let's hope it stays that way.

 

Verify whether you have the latest release of the Magician software installed. It should be 4.9.7 If it isn't, download the latest version from the Samsung web site.
