    Hi, I have just done a new install of Windows 10 (20H2) build 19042.985. I have four NVMe SSD's , one SATA SSD and two SATA mechanical Hard Drives. My Motherboard is an Aorus Master X570. Its Users manual states that AHCI is its default. As you can see from the attachments, my UEFI shows SATA mode as AHCI, but Samsung Magician version 6.3.0 (newly downloaded and installed) shows AHCI mode as DEACTIVATED on the SATA SSD. Its the same for the two mechanical HDDS' as well. Searching the forum, I see that this problem was around some years ago. Any ideas?

    HP Compaq 6910p AHCI deactivated Samsung PM830 drive SLOW

    Fresh install of W10 1909 x64 on an HP 6910p with 8GB RAM and Samsung PM830 SSD

    SATA/AHCI chipset is "Intel 82801HEM/HBM SATA AHCI Controller (Mobile ICH8M-E/M)"

    Drive is really slow, Samsung Magician reports AHCI is deactivated.

    BIOS setting SATA Native mode is "Enabled" which should enable AHCI.

    Help please ...

    new samsung 860 ssd magician software 5.21 disables ahci

    I checked my system and this is a new Desktop so the IDE ATA/ATPI controllers I show an Intel 300 Series Chipset SATA AHCI controller.

    What I do not understand about your post is the AHCI if the controller version you are using. There are only AHCI and RAID available for newer systems where older ones may have something else. It the AHCI was being disabled, the drive would stop working.

    I was running the 5.2.0 version of the Magician software which I just updated to 5.2.1.
