Did Samsung just pull a dirty on customers?
Originally Samsung used to advertise their NVMe drives are 3500/3300 for the 1tb and 2tb drives. In fact, every retail site I've checked still shows the specs from Samsung as 3500/3300.

But when I look on the Samsung site they now say 3500/2500.

So people who bought them based on their previously advertised speeds and who subsequently couldn't get anywhere near those speeds got sucked in. They quietly dropped their speeds (I expect they got caught out). As a premium priced product I don't think Samsung is top dog any longer.

What a despicable thing to do. Seems endemic in the storage arena, with both Seagate and Western Digital recently being caught out selling slower drives too.

    :)

  2. Dodgy Cable/Socket?

You could have a dodgy cable or USB socket.

Remove all of your USB devices.
Then try each of them (individually) to see if you can tell which device/socket is responsible.

For example, connect only a keyboard or mouse and then try:
    • Jiggling the cable to see if it is responsible
    • Swapping the cable to a different USB socket and try again

    Pull-down or Drop-down Menu?

I decided to uninstall Firefox after the entries in the Favorites doubled.
(Example: the Yahoo Mail sign-in page appears twice in the list. Deleting
    one also deletes the other.)

I have been looking for browsers with pull-down or drop-down menus but
could only find Chrome-styled browsers (without pull-down or drop-down menus).

Would anyone suggest an old style browser?

    TIA.
