Windows 10: Samsung Shares Massive MIMO Roadmap in New Whitepaper

Massive MIMO, key technology for enhancing 5G network capacity and user experiences, will continue to be essential driver for 5G build-out.

Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today published a whitepaper titled âMassive MIMO for New Radioâ, highlighting the capabilities and benefits of Massive Multi-Input, Multi-Output (MIMO) in 5G NR systems and sharing Samsungâs roadmap for Massive MIMO solutions. The whitepaper presents the various form factors, essential air technologies and development plans, as well as Samsungâs vision for this critical technology essential for 5G build-out.

Why is Massive MIMO a key technology?

With the exponential growth in mobile traffic, the newly deployed 5G solutions must provide fast and stable network connections. Massive MIMO is a major breakthrough in technology which improves the network capacity and the userâs 5G experience. Massive MIMO, outfitted with a large number of antennas, can control the antennas to concentrate the emitted radio signals into a narrow beam focused on a designated user, resulting in a significant improvement in throughput and efficiency while reducing interferences among nearby users.

Samsung leads the Massive MIMO evolution

Samsung provides a wide array of Massive MIMO radio lineup that aim to support all of the globally defined 5G spectrums in mid-band and serve diverse environments and site requirements. In 5Gâs initial stage, Samsung Massive MIMO radio featured a slim, lightweight, compact design to ensure easy installation and quick deployment. These specifications were a key driver for Korean operators launching one of the worldâs first 5G services in 2019.

Samsung will continue to develop technology that supports a vast array of spectrum with higher capacity. The company will lay the groundwork for more innovations by introducing the next-generation Massive MIMO with enhancements in the latest 3GPP release 16 and 17, as well as Distributed FD-MIMO (Full Dimension MIMO) in the coming years.

The New Microsoft 365 Roadmap is Live

Today our new Microsoft 365 Roadmap is live! We are excited to share this new version of our roadmap, that brings together Office 365, Enterprise Mobility + Security, and Windows 10 into one destination.

In addition to retaining all the current information and functionality of the existing Office 365 Roadmap, we’ve updated our site design to improve the user experience.

With the new Microsoft 365 Roadmap, you’ll be able to:

Utilize new search filters such as product, cloud instance, and platform.

View additional information for the features on the Roadmap, including whether the feature is deploying in Targeted Release, preview, specialized cloud instances, or worldwide. This information will be located on the feature card, or available via search in the Roadmap.

Leverage new RSS capabilities through a custom link on the Roadmap web page. Using the RSS features feed you can subscribe to be notified of real-time feature updates, and view the notification in Outlook, supported browsers or mobile readers. Power users can use various tools to automate the handling of RSS updates to integrate them into their own 3rd party services.

Other notable changes:

The existing Office 365 URL (https://products.office.com/business/office-365-roadmap) will be replaced with a new Microsoft 365 Roadmap URL (https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/microsoft-365/roadmap). The existing Office 365 Roadmap URL will automatically redirect to the new page.

The "previously released" category will become the “launched” category. Launched features will remain in the “launched” category for six months after going live.

We have redirects in place so that the deep links in any existing Message Center posts will continue to function, and any bookmarks you have set to the Roadmap will continue to work.

MIMO

Hello, So I have Acer E5-573G laptop which has "MU-MIMO" but I can't see any advantages of it. And is MU-MIMO good? Also I have Wi-Fi router with MIMO support(with 2 antennas) and plus my friend who lives next to me has Wi-Fi too and and can I connect
both routers together? connect one laptop to two Wi-Fi networks. Thanks sincerely.
