    SAMSUNG SM961 M.2 NMVe SSD


    I bought a new SAMSUNG SM961 M.2 NVMe SSD.

    Mr Google on several sites said that a DVD install will fail at the make Partition stage.

    I installed from a DVD no problem. The only changes I made in the UEFI was to disable the other drives so as to be sure to install to the SSD.

    Windows 10 unable to shut down normally after fall creators update

    I have enabled fast startup for over a year, and had not encountered any problems until updating to fall update. Besides, I'd also keep fast startup as it speeds up my booting time by 15 secs.

    As I said, the problem only occurs when sitting down through the power menu, but behaves normally when using the command "shutdown -t 0 -s" which keeps fast startup.

    For reference, here are my pc details

    ASUS MAXIMUS VIII EXTREME SKYLAKE MB

    INTEL KABY LAKE i7-7700k CLOCKED AT 4.9GHZ

    INTEL INTEGRATED GPU HD 630 (1 4k mon and 1 1680x1050 mon)

    SAMSUNG SM961 M.2 256GB SSD BOOT

    SAMSUNG 860 EVO 250GB SSD

    WINDOWS 10 PRO

    and samsungs proprietory program to copy installed emmc to samsung then swapped in new hdd no worries afert that

    Perhaps ditching your 32G emmc is an answer?
