    • Are you trying to connect your Samsung S7 phone to Windows 10 PC using Samsung Smart Switch?
    • Which program are you trying to install?
    • Where are you trying to install the program? Is it on your Samsung S7 phone or on your Windows 10 computer?

    Samsung Smart Switch Sync fails in Windows 10

    I have had the same problem, which lead me to this web page. I tried any number of solutions suggested here to no avail. I finally uninstalled Smart Switch and downloaded a program Kies3 from the Samsung web site. I had used this program previously
    on this computer running Windows 8.1. Kies3 installed fine with Windows 10 and when I synchronized Microsoft Outlook 2010 with my Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini it performed without any problems. Kies3 may not be as fancy as Smart Switch and it may run a bit more
    slowly, but it runs without crashing.

    Thanks for the suggestion. Just gave it a try. That did not work.

    But it looks like the phone is connecting through Windows Media Player on the PC and not the Smart Switch app on the PC. Can't figure out how to disconnect from opening in WMP
