Windows 10: Sandisk USB key working everywhere but on my laptop

Hello,So I bought a SanDisk Ultra USB key a few months ago, it used to work fine until a few hours ago.Now it says Reset Port Failed in device management and also my laptop DOES detect other external usb drives.I tried to plug my USB on my phone and it worked, I also tried to plug it on another person's laptop and it worked as well, so I don't understand why it stopped working on mine?Can anyone help? my laptop is Windows 11 by the way.Thanks

Sandisk USB unable to connect on Windows 10 computer

Thank you for your quick reply. My computer does read other USB sticks as I've tried a couple. I will try what you suggested tomorrow at work and see if I can reformat the sandisk USB. I tried the sandisk in another Windows 10 laptop and didn't work on that
one either. Will let you know if your suggestion works. Thanks.

 

No USB ports working on toshiba laptop

Hi guys,

Got an old Toshiba laptop, satellite l500d pslk0a-00r009
Its old and doesn't officially support win10. However I have it installed and everything works fine except USB. All the ports seem completely dead, plugging in a USB mouse I get no light on the mouse. USB flash drives don't work either. This was previously working under win7.

The issue seems to be I don't have "Generic USB hub" in device manager. Have tried to manually install it using add legacy hardware but it wont take. I have several USB root hub and others listed, but not the generic hub.

Here's what I have tried so far:

Uninstall all USB device in device managers and reboot
Confirmed BIOS is latest version
tried both legacy and compatibly USB mode in BIOS
Download and install generic win10 USB drivers
Disable USB power saving mode
Installed toshiba's service center, no updates available
Ran MS troubleshooter/fixit

I think the next step is to give up, but does anyone else have any suggestions?

Problems with mouse freezing when using Sandisk USB

Hi folks,

Both my husband and I have recently bought new laptops, both running Windows 10 and there is a real problem when we insert a Sandisk USB stick: it causes the mouse to really lag - and sometimes for up to 30 - 40 seconds. Additionally, I've started noticing problems with the keyboard freezing too. There are only two USB ports on these laptops, and one has the usb in it for the mouse/keyboard. I've tried swapping the two USBs around to see whether there was something about the ports but to no avail. Before I go and have to buy a new USB stick (and definitely not a Sandisk one), can anyone suggest anything which might rectify this please?
