  1. Save my DVDs and CDs

Started with DOS 1.0 and have large collection of DVDs and CDs programs, data and music. Upgrading to windows 11 ? lost sound and CD and DVD optical drives. Thinking about upgrading to Ryzen but new cases generally do not have slot for optical drive. 1 What is recommended strategy so as not to lose access to these DVDs and CDs after upgrade? 2 is it wise to use old case given need cooling and noise adverse wife?

    :)

    Save my DVDs and CDs

    New DVD/CD - Not Running

First check the bios ,see if it it is listed as a startup device.
if not then the mainboard is not recognizing it and you Should check the cables and connections.
Forget devices, open the Device Manager and see if it is there, check properties
un check "turn off this device to save power" (just for now)
    also check for any errors.
second step if all appears good is to delete the dvd in the Device Manager with the drivers.
reboot and see if it shows.
