Windows 10: Saved Files Delay In Showing At Save Location

Hello,I'm on a new laptop and I think this might have something to do with the OneDrive backup which I don't use on my desktop.I noticed this specifically on the desktop.When I save a document or file to the desktop it doesn't show up on the desktop immediately.However, even if I can't see it on the desktop when I'm in file explorer or if I'm trying to attach the file to an email I do see the file, I can open the file and attach the file.Then after a little while, maybe a minute or so later, the file shows up on the desktop.This is really only an annoying issue but I'm concerned that if this i

Default location to save documenets

Sorry for the delayed response.

From your recent description, it seems like the issue is confined to Word documents. If true, then follow the steps below and check if it helps.

• Launch Word application.
• Go to File Menu and select Options.
• In the pop-up dialog box, towards the left pane, select Save.
• Under Default location file, browse the location you want to save.
• Check if the issue persists.

  Are you trying to save the email attached file? Please elaborate.
  

If you are using Outlook email, let’s try simple steps and check if it helps. Try the below steps provided.

Step 1.

If you want to save only the attached file from the email, try the below step.

  Right click on the attached file and click on Save as.
  
• 
  Now select a folder location where you want to save the attached file.
  

Step 2.

If you want to save the file along with the email try the below steps provided.

• 
  Open the mail you want to save and click on File on the top of the right side.

  Click on Save As and select a folder location where you want to save the email.

When I go to save a word file, I don't get anything like what you show, which is:





In my case, on choosing File, Save I am taken to a big square white window with a blue column on the left, labelled "Save As", with two columns. The left one offers Computer and Add a Place. The right one offers Computer: Recent Folders, followed by a list of recent folders, and a button "Browse" at the bottom.
