Saved Networks Deleted and Cannot Connect

This morning when I woke my laptop out of sleep mode I noticed that it did not automatically connect to my work's WiFi network.

I tried to connect manually and noticed that Windows had forgotten the WiFi network password. After typing it in and waiting for my computer to connect the status said, "Can't connect to this network" even though the adapter was enabled and waiting for a connection.

I tried cycling airplane mode, and restarting my computer but had no success.

Seeing this, I reset my network adapter, and when that failed to solve the problem I tried changing my channel width from 'Auto' to '20MHz Only'. This did not work either so I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers for my adapter, but that also did not work.

Hoping that I could get back some functionality I tried a System Restore, which was also ineffective.

It was then I tried to see if the computer had any of my old networks and simply was not connecting by using the netsh wlan show profiles in command prompt, but all of my networks were gone except for the one from my cell phone.

Is there some way to restore my connectivity? What could have possibly happened to my networks?

I would very much appreciate any help in figuring this out. My laptop runs Windows 10 Enterprise version 1607.

    Thank you.

    :)

    Delete saved Ethernet Networks

    Hello,

To delete unwanted network profiles, we can try doing it from the Control Panel first. Here are the steps:

    • Search for Control Panel using the Cortana search box.
    • On the upper right part of the Control Panel windows, type network.
    • Under Network and Sharing Center, click View network connections.
    • Right click on the unwanted network from the list on this window and select Delete.
    • Once done deleting all the unwanted network connections, restart your PC.
Make sure that you are running the PC as the administrator before proceeding with the steps above.

  3. Losing network connection

Hello Dear, if you have a laptop or a PC with a wireless network adapter, you can see a list of available wireless networks and then connect to one of those networks. The wireless networks will only appear if your PC has a wireless network adapter installed, the adapter is turned on, and the wireless access point is in range.

    1. Click Start, click Control Panel, click Network and Internet Connections, and then click Network Connections.

    2. In the left pane, under Network Tasks, click View available wireless networks.
In case, If you don't see the network you want to connect to, click Refresh network list. If you see the network but the signal is weak, move the PC closer to the wireless router.

    3. Click the network you want to connect to, and then click Connect.

    4. If you're connecting to a secure network, type the security key, and then click OK.

I Hope you solve out your query soon.
