Windows 10: Saved Web Page Opens With Folder Name As Prefix In Address Bar Window

Lately, after saving a web page to my directory, when I open the saved page, it included the folder name it was saved in. The opened page would show some of it's contents, for not a functional web page. On this forum, went to the Support sections and saved it to the folder D:\GENERAL\TenForums . I then opened the HTML file, and it opened in with my default browser, Firefox, as: file:///D:/GENERAL/TenForums/General%20Support%20-%20Windows%2010%20Forums.htm 1. All saved web pages would open with the folder path in the address bar.2. Some pages, when opened, would show the web page, but when any

Lately, after saving a web page to my directory, when I open the saved page, it included the folder name it was saved in. The opened page would show some of it's contents, for not a functional web page.

On this forum, went to the Support sections and saved it to the folder:

" D:\GENERAL\Microsoft Tech Support ".

I then opened the HTML file with Edge browser, and in the address line, it shows this:

file:///D://GENERAL/Microsoft%20Tech%20Support/Create%20a%20new%20question%20or%20start%20a%20discussion.htm

1. All saved web pages would open with the folder path in the address bar.

2. Some pages, when opened, would show the web page, but when any link is opened, the address bar will change to what it's supposed to be.

3. Some web pages would open and and incomplete web page, with no link 'openable'.

What changed my Windows 10 since the same happens with Firefox and Chrome browsers, when saved or opened with them? Cheers

You are saving the file of the webpage, that is why you see the folder path and not the page address.

I understand that you want to save a link to the address in the folder. To do it, drag the padlock icon on the left side of the address bar to the folder you want to save.

Or drag it to the desktop and then, move the link to the folder you want.
