saving files directly to desktop and not to "this PC"

I recently reinstalled Windows 10 and when want to save a PDF document it goes by default to save to "this PC." I want to be able to save it to the desktop by default as before not to "this PC." I was able to fix this with office documents using options. But I don't know how to do it with other files including a PDF created out of a word document through the print to PDF function. Thanks.

    :)

  2. rar files opens directly without save

    Hello friends,
    I've one query..
by mistake i selected option "open this type of file directly" while downloading one rar file from my browser.

After than if i click on any rar file link or attachment in forum, regardless of size it opens directly without asking to save to any path option..

    how to revert this change?

windows 10 deleted my desktop files

Step 1 - I upgraded to Win 10 and lost all my files on Desktop.

Step 2 - Found the files in Network - USers- Desktop

copied all files again to desktop.

Step 3- Restarted my machine again and lost desktop files again.

Step 4 - As suggested did the following as listed below but dont find my files.

    • Press “Windows + E”, open This PC/Computer
    • Open Local Disc C, open Windows.old
    • Click on Users, select your User name
    • Go to desktop folder
Cant find my files. Why is Win 10 deleted files again and again from Desktop ?.

saving files directly to desktop and not to "this PC"

    Saves log files ?

You can either read the files in Windows or my preferred method is.....

    Download CCcleaner from here...........

    http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner

You can then run cleaner, you will see the log files listed, then if you right click you can save as a text file and then have a read. You may also get an "error reporting" log listed seperatly.
