Windows 10: Saving problem with PDF files on Microsoft Edge

Something has recently changed with Edge and PDF files. The PDF file can be opened with no issues but as soon as you make changes to it, a star appears on the file name and it can't be saved anymore. The save & save as options on the top are greyed out. There's no way to click on them.The commands ALT+F+A don't work either.Nothing works to save it.If I click on the "x" to close the file it says "Leave Site? Changes you made will not be saved" and the only options available for this are "LEAVE" OR "CANCEL"Can someone at Microsoft help me find a solution to this problem please?Thank you.

We suggest that you save the PDF files on your device and check if the issue persists. You may also want to associate the PDF files to Microsoft Edge as the default program to make sure that you have a default application that will open all of your PDF files.
Here are the steps:

• Search for Default Programs.
• Go to Associate a file type or protocol with a program.
• Select the .pdf file type and then click the Change program button on the upper right of the
  Set Associations window.
• Choose Microsoft Edge and then click OK.

method for saving an opened PDF document works perfect. If you are trying to save the PDF file from the link to the file without opening it, well that's going to be an issue, as that functionality was removed from Microsoft edge fore security purposes (it
is common for viruses and malware to list themselves as PDFs, and then when you save it to your hard drive and opened it later, it would run as an EXE, or would run as a PDF, but have code to open another URL and install an app... same goes for some WMV and
AVI files though the media player)... I am sure there will be some add-on to add it back or add a button to download all videos, pictures, or pdfs that is made available soon enough for those that like living on the edge ;-)

Open the link related to a PDF on your Edge, click on “More” and then choose “Print” and select “Microsoft Print to PDF” from the list of printer. You will see that a PDF file is created. Then hit “Print” and choose the output directory to save the PDF file.
Also, other browsers or online applications can be used to
save webpage as PDF simply and free.
