Windows 10: Saving to Desktop; Windows 11

Purchased a New Window 11 laptop; disabled Microsfot OneDrive.Some of the work I do I use NotePad to paste Text copied elsewhere...and then use SAVE AS to save the Text. I save the Text to This PC\Desktop on all my other PC's and the Note Pad saved Document saves to the Desktop.With my New Laptop, when I click SAVE AS and click Desktop....the path is ThisPC\OneDrive\Desktop....and the notepad document is not on my desktop....it is however in the Path shown.I have been unable getting Note Pads Saves to save to my Desktop....what am I doing wrong?

Your suggestion does not work. It did work on Windows 7.

• How are you trying to add the favorites to desktop?

I suggest you to try the below steps to save the favorites on desktop and check if it helps.

• Open the Internet Explorer and minimize the screen.
• Then go to the favorites tab and then drag any favorites that you have saved to the desktop.
• Once you get the favorites items \ folders then you can open the favorites and check if it is opening.

To address this concern, we suggest that you follow these steps on how to automatically save a file in Internet Explorer 11:

• In Internet Explorer 11, you'll have to click first on a file of the type you want to open automatically.
• This will show you the Open/Save prompt.
• Select the Save option.
• In Internet Explorer, click Tools.
• Click the View Download options.
• You will see a popup containing the file that you downloaded.
• Make sure to uncheck the option "Always ask before opening this type of file."
