Discus and support say I have digital licence but not activated in Windows 10 Updates and Activation to solve the problem; I am getting same problem it was upgraded from 8.1 ran all above it keeps giving the error and says trouble shoot which say it has a digital licnce...     Activating Windows 10 with a digital licence

    Hello there

    I have a windows 10 pro digital licence registered to my pc , I have changed the hard drive and of course I do not have a Windows 10 CD , so I borrowed my friends windows 10 pro disc and reloaded that onto mine and I choose will register later , so all
    well up to them , loaded all the up dates , rebooted and in the activation it is saying , "it can't activate windows on this device because because you don't have a valid digital licence .

    But when I log into my Microsoft account it is showing my pc , along with windows 10 pro and the model number and serial number of this pc .

    I am stumped , my account says I have a licence for this machine but windows on my pc is saying I don't , baffled .

    Yeah - this is the absurdity of digital licences. @jimbo45 is only required by EULA to wipe windows from old PC if he transfers his licence to a new PC, so is not involved in piracy.

    The Charity on sells to a user, and it activates - they cannot be pirates either as they installed in good faith. Nowhere in the EULA does it say you actually have to buy a licence, just that the PC needs to be activated.

    However if @Jimbo did not wipe pc, and kept it activated, then that is piracy.

    Equally if he gave it away or sold it telling the buyer it would activate for free, again that is piracy.

    So long as he follows the eula and wipes it, and says to buyer the OS is not included then I do not see how this can be considered as piracy as both parties will have acted in good faith. The onus is on MS to prove the point.

    Windows 10 digital licence activation issues

    Good day

    My hardware sticker indicates that I have a Windows 10 Pro digital license, I installed Windows 10 Pro accordingly.

    Now when I try activate my digital licence it says that I have a Home Single Language licence and must install correct version.

    Please advise how this is possible and what could be the cause of this, I have activated many machines without fail in this regard but today suddenly things changed?

    Please revert with reasons and a fix to resolve urgently to activate the Pro version which is what I require.
