Windows 10: Scammer attempt through Firefox on Vista operating system.

I just had a scammer attack; called the 800 number provided; it sounded fishy so I hung up without providing any information. However, it looked for a moment as if my cursor was moving by itself and there was a message at bottom left of screen saying "transferring.google". Did they actually take control of my computer? I am using the old Vista operating system and using Firefox to access the internet. Webroot scan shows no viruses. Is a new computer my only solution? Mine will not allow Windows 10 download.

Windows vista-basic operation problems

I wanted to do a repair from the Vista disc.

I went to the boot menu and selected the CD/DVD drive which contained the Vista disc. It ran and it came up with the message:

media test failure check cable
then
Exiting SiS191 PXE BootROM
operating system not found

It's a Fujitsu Siemens computer...

Not sure what next step should be

Are you able to follow them?
