HOW DO I GET RID OF QUARANTINED VIRUSES AND WHAT PROGRAM GETS THEM? ALSO

Why does windows defender quarantine some viruses? Why quarantine them? Why doesn't it just delete them?

Suppose WD incorrectly identifies a file as malware? That does not happen often but it does occur with all antimalware products. If the file is quarantined and it is later determined to be a "false positive" the file can (hopefully)
be restored. But if it's been removed then it's gone and cannot be retrieved.

If malware is in quarantine it's harmless...WD will remove it in about 30 to 90 days if the user does not restore or delete the file.
I’d just let WD worry about it.

Many other antimalware programs such as Avast and Malwarebytes "quarantine" suspected malware files...it's not a procedure that is unique to WD (or to MSE).

Tips To Protect Your PC

 

Viruses, malware etc...

after almost two years of defender there are no files quarantined, flagged or even a single item listed. my computer is clitchy, slower and overall performance waning. I have tried several different ways to re-load windows 10 with every attempt ending with
"There was a problem". I've used the defender scanning options and it comes up with nothing. I admit i'm not the most savvy computer person in the world, however, I should be able to do something that will help out my situration without having to turn my
computer over to someone else to diagnose. any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
