    Scan Files Missing


    I had issues and had to set up my printer/scanner again. When I went to do a scan, all of the files in "\Users\user\Documents\Scanned Documents" were gone. They are not in the Recycle Bin, and I haven't found any of them search my hard drive. The pc is Windows 10. How can I get them back?

    Hi Brenda,

    Have you tried performing the
    SFC scan? If not, we suggest that you perform it. SFC will scan, fix and restore any corrupted and missing system files.
    To run an
    SFC scan, follow these steps:



    • Run
      Command Prompt as Administrator.

    • Type
      sfc /scannow
      and hit
      Enter.

    Note:
    The scanning might take a while. Make sure that you
    DO NOT CANCEL
    the process.

    One of the reasons why your applications is missing due to a corrupted system files. Have you tried running SFC
    scan? If not, we suggest that you run SFC scan to check and fix any system files that has been corrupted. To do so, please follow these steps:


    • Run
      Command Prompt as Administrator.

    • Type
      sfc /scannow
      and hit
      Enter.

    There are several factors that can contribute to issue your facing with doing a restore for you Windows 10 computer. This could be caused by missing update components or corrupted system files. For us to resolve your concern with the programs not opening
    and just showing an error, kindly answer the questions below:

    • Was the error message showing up on just a specific program you attempted to launch or is it showing up on any program that you attempted to launch?
    • Were there any error messages that showed up when you attempted to perform the restore on your computer?

    As a initial recommendation, we suggest the you run a SFC Scan (System File Check). This command will scan all the protected operating system files and replaces incorrect, corrupted, changed, or damaged versions with the correct versions where possible.
