Upgrade on 6-30-2016 disabled my scanner

In order to help you better, could you please confirm a couple of things.

• Are you referring to Windows update or Windows new build upgrade?
• What is the make and model of the computer?
• What is the make and model of the scanner?

Please do provide us the KB update number or the Windows Build number that was installed on your computer on 6-30-2016.

I suggest you to run the “Hardware troubleshooter” from the below steps and check if it helps.

Run hardware troubleshooter

• Press Windows + X key and go to Control Panel.
• On the Top right click on view by and select large icons.
• Go to troubleshooting.
• On the Left panel click View all items.
• Select Hardware and devices troubleshooter and follow the on screen instructions.

To get better clarity on the issue, kindly answer the questions below:

• Is the scanner detected under Devices?
• Were you able to see the scanner on the Device Manager?
• Have you installed the latest driver for the scanner?

We suggest you to run the troubleshooter for hardware and devices. To do this, follow the steps:

• On the Start menu, type Troubleshooting and hit enter.
• Choose Hardware and Sound.
• Select Hardware and Devices and run the troubleshooter.

If issue persists, we suggest you contact the manufacturer to get better assistance.

Workstation Service

Hello All,

We have a backup server that over the weekend started having some issues. All our backups were failing due to a RPC error. After some investigation i noticed in our event log we have a bunch of errors starting oct 4th in regards to failing services. The
one making the backups fail that i was able to get started by switching to local systerm was the network location awareness service. but my workstation service will not start. I have manually tried to start it and get the "error 1079: The account specified
for the service is different from the account specified for the other services running in the same process" message that pops up. I have set it to every option (network service,local service,local system accounts) and they all produce the error 1079. any
suggestions on fixing services issues like this? or what could have caused it? there was a windows update the day it started failing but i removed that and the same issue occurs.
