I have tried everything from manually running chkdsk to removing the dirty bit with a hex editor, but it keeps being marked as dirty. I'm not going to say I tried rebooting because that triggers a disk check. Is there anything I can do to fix this. I am using a Surface Laptop 3 and the volume shown is the EFI System Partition, which to my understanding contains critical boot files. Every time I manually check the volume, it reports no issues, but yet Windows still marks it as dirty. If I run the command 'chkntfs \\?\Volume{2db485c1-9ce0-4f5c-b04f-033189514b47}', it returns:The type of file sys

    :)

Scanning and repairing drive on every start-up

Recently, I had a start-up error with the "Reboot and select proper Boot device" message. I fixed it by unplugging and then plugging back in my drives, but since then it has been slow with starting up Windows, attempting to scan and repair an unknown drive before the login screen.

I need help to figure out which disk it is referring to and how to get rid of the scan and repair thing on start-up.

Windows Version Number: 1903 (OS Build 18362.900)

(Link to the previous thread: Scanning and repairing drive on every start-up
Tried the things listed there, but couldn't get much further. Was suggested to start this new thread...)

Scanning and Repairing Drive on every boot

    Hello.

So a few minutes ago, my computer froze at the shut down screen. I forced a shutdown through the power button and after that, Windows 10 informs me that it is scanning and repairing drives. When the computer finally loaded, I checked for errors in the C:
drive through properties. It found errors and urged me to restart my system to repair drive errors. I let it restart yet when I checked for errors again on the properties menu, it still had errors. I repeated the whole scan and restart thing to no avail. Frustrated,
I ran chkdsk C: /f /r /x on cmd as admin but the Properties menu still showed errors after restart. I even ran Repair-Volume C -Scan on PowerShell but again, Properties still showed errors.

I ran a SMART test (in case the issue is with my hard drive) on PowerShell using Get-WmiObject -namespace root\wmi –class MSStorageDriver_FailurePredictStatus but it showed that all of my drives are healthy. I am currently running DISM.exe and sfc /scannow
to ensure image integrity which all yielded positive results and this is really annoying me. How do I boot without the scanning and repairing drives appearing?
