    Scannow problem

win 10 v1709. Ran scannow (as admin) and received the error message at 44%:
Windows Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation.
Found the instruction to run SFC scanin safe mode and make sure that the PendingDeletes and PendingRenames folders exist under %WinDir%\WinSxS\Temp.

Ran it in safe mode and it stopped at 44% as well. Both folders do exist in the TEMP folder as described.

    Any advice?

    :)

    Scannow problem

Open administrative command prompt and type or copy and paste:
    1) dism /online /cleanup-image /scanhealth
    2) dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth
    3) sfc /scannow
    4) When these have completed > right click on the top bar or title bar of the administrative command prompt box > left click on edit then select all > right click on the top bar again > left click on edit then copy > paste into the thread

When I was still testing Insider Previews, I ran into a similar problem when trying to run a sfc /scannow.

Member waltc posted a solution that worked perfectly.
His answer is on post #172 in the following thread. ( Mar 20th, 2016) :
Announcing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14291 for PC and Mobile

I wonder if it can be applicable to your issue.

Made the cmd file. Executed it. Window said it could not find the wrpint.dll file although I have two versions of it in two different windows folders. Anyway, still hung up on 44%

    Suggest doing a Repair Install.

Repair Install Windows 10 with an In-place Upgrade

If you find the tutorial a little intimidating, here is my short version :

Use this Media Creation Tool link :
    https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/soft...load/windows10
Click Download Tool Now button and run it.
Then select Create installation media for another PC
That will begin downloading the ISO file to your computer.
When download is completed, RIGHT click at the ISO > click Mount > click Setup.exe ( or setup).
That will begin installing Windows 10.
You have the choice of keeping settings, files and apps, or keeping nothing.
    No product key is required.
    Activation will be automatic.

Note : my instructions do not require burning the iso file to a bootable media. But it is a good idea to do so...... after the coast is clear.
