Windows 10: Screen brightness doesn't change when I adjust it.

Hello,

My screen brightness stays the same even though I adjust it. I have tried updating my display adapter, but when I did that another problem occured: whenever I played a YouTube video or MP4-file, my laptop crashed.


Specs:


CPU: AMD Ryzen 5

Motherboard: HP 83C6 (FP5)

Graphics: 256 MB ATI AMD Radeon Vega 8 Mobile Graphics (HP)

Windows version 1803

Some computers can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions.

To manually adjust the screen brightness, we suggest following these troubleshooting steps:

• Click Start, then select Settings.
• Choose System, then select Display.
• Under Brightness and color, move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness.

If however you are not able to change the brightness, I suggest you update your display drivers and check if it helps:

You can update drivers from the Device Manager.

• • Right click on start button and click on Device manager.
    
  • Select Display adapter and expand it.

Brightness can not be adjusted.

• What is the make and model of your device?
• Were you able to see any error message/ error code with this issue?
• Have you tried to install all the pending updates for drivers and Windows Updates on your device?

This issue might have happened due to corrupted/ outdated drivers.
