Screen brightness drops (a lot) when I switch to battery since Windows 10 ver 1809 update

I just installed the latest feature update (ver. 1809) for Windows 10 on an Acer Aspire E5-773G laptop . The screen brightness reset to 50% so I adjusted it back it "normal". All other settings remained the same.

However, when I switch to battery (100% charge), the brightness drops a substantial amount. I understand this happens when the machine goes on to battery saver, and there are little gradations in brightness when on battery. I don't want to go into settings every time I plug / unplug the laptop.

Are any others finding this problems or are there any thoughts on a resolution?

    :)

  2. screen brightness on windows 10

    Hi,

Some computers can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions.

To manually adjust the screen brightness, we suggest following these troubleshooting steps:

    • Click Start, then select Settings.
    • Choose System, then select Display.
    • Under Brightness and color, move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness.

Feel free to post back if you have other concern.

On-Battery Screen Brightness Too Dark After Win8.1->Win10 Update

    Hey guys,

after updating to Windows 10, I am not able to get the screen brightness to 100% anymore (it is shown to be 100%, but plugging my laptop in, screen brightness will increase to maximum brightness). Screen settings are as shown below.

    Maybe anyone has an idea?

I also tried using the command line:

This allows me to change the brightness, however 100% is still not really 100% when on battery.
