Windows 10: Screen brightness error. How to fix it?

Hello, everyone,

bought an Acer XZ321QU monitor last week, this one is new.

When testing the homogeneity of the screen, I noticed that "darker" areas are visible both in the middle of the right and the bottom middle. This is especially noticeable on white backgrounds and disturbs me especially when reading articles.

Is this a hardware problem? Is there a way to calibrate the screen so that the brightness of the screen is even?

I have already tried out various settings both on the monitor itself and on Win 10, but have not yet been able to fix the error. Even with another higher quality DP cable I could not find a solution.

My brother's screen (similar size) does not have these brightness problems on my PC, this one also has a VA panel

Hi,

Some computers can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions.

To manually adjust the screen brightness, we suggest following these troubleshooting steps:

• Click Start, then select Settings.
• Choose System, then select Display.
• Under Brightness and color, move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness.

Method 2: I suggest you to update the display drivers and check if the issue persists.

Steps to update the drivers for the Display Adapter.

• Press Windows key + X key when you are at desktop.
• Select Device Manager.
• Expand Display Adapter.
• Right on the Display Adapter and click on Update.

Brightness is fixed/unadjustable.

If it was working previously, I'd bet it stopped due to a mirror driver being installed. Mirror drivers are what allow remote meeting software like GoToMeeting, WebEx, and Team Viewer to copy the screen.

Here's the steps I would suggest:

• Right-click the Start button, choose Device Manager
• Go to the Monitor section (not display adapter) and remove everything inside (right-click and uninstall)
• Click the "Scan for hardware" on the toolbar (has a magnifying glass icon on it)
• Try adjusting brightness again
