Windows 10: Screen brightness not available-Windows 10 Version 1903

Ever since I updated to Version 1903, I have been unable to adjust my screen brightness.

There is no slider under the notification center (also my battery saver on/off is greyed out here).

There is no option to adjust screen brightness under settings>power & sleep>additional power settings


There is no option to adjust screen brightness under settings>display. Also, I noticed the screen resolution is grayed out under settings>display. I don't know if these issues are connected or not.


The screen brightness also does not adjust with the 'function' + 'arrow' key (I used to use that all the time)

I've been dealing with this issue now several weeks, and I'm quite tired of it. This morning my screen is too bright and I can't do a single thing about it.

I have updated my drivers.

Hi,

Some computers can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions.

To manually adjust the screen brightness, we suggest following these troubleshooting steps:

• Click Start, then select Settings.
• Choose System, then select Display.
• Under Brightness and color, move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness.

Unable to change screen brightness

If you’re running Windows 10 1903 version then there is a bug with the brightness settings:

Display brightness may not respond to adjustments

Microsoft and Intel have identified a driver compatibility issue on devices configured with certain Intel display drivers. After updating to Window 10, version 1903, brightness settings may sometime appear as if changes applied took effect, yet the actual display
brightness doesn't change.

To safeguard your update experience, we have applied a compatibility hold on devices with certain Intel drivers from being offered Windows 10, version 1903, until this issue is resolved.

Affected platforms:

Client: Windows 10, version 1903

Workaround: Restart your device to apply changes to brightness.

Note We recommend that you do not attempt to manually update using the Update now button or the Media Creation Tool until this issue has been resolved.

Adjust Screen Brightness and Resolution in Windows 10

The screen brightness adjustment keys of my HP Pavilion laptop are not recognized by Windows 10. It is so bright that it is harming our eyes. Also, I followed the suggested alternate steps from many websites and none of them worked as the brightness adjustment
option is not at all available even not inside Control Panel.

Please note that before installing Windows 10, I got notification that my laptop is compatible for the upgrade. Can you please help?
