Windows 10: screen brightness notification popup

Hi, I use the Logitech MK650 mouse and keyboard with Windows 11, there are function keys with screen brightness settings, basically the same as laptop keyboards, everything works fine in handling volume and brightness levels. By using the laptop's built-in keyboard, when adjusting the screen brightness, it brings up a lighting level popup, but when using an external keyboard, it sometimes appears sometimes it doesn't, usually it appears when the laptop wakes up from sleep. However, the volume level popups all work fine if I set them with an external keyboard. I have also contacted Logitech

Some computers can let Windows automatically adjust screen brightness based on the current lighting conditions.

To manually adjust the screen brightness, we suggest following these troubleshooting steps:

• Click Start, then select Settings.
• Choose System, then select Display.
• Under Brightness and color, move the Change brightness slider to adjust the brightness.

How to change brightness steps in notification area


I use the notification area to change the brightness of my screen (Toshiba U920T laptop). It has always been 4 steps of 25%, 50%, 75% and 100%. Does anyone know how to change these steps? I couldn't find anything relevant in the registry.

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.
