Windows 10: Screen Brightness Override

Hi, I have been having an issue recently with newer games. The games I play now are starting to override my gpu screen brightness settings and reverting them back to original brightness.

Basically I have my screen brightness set lower than normal through my gpu control panel. When I play some of these newer games now they override my gpu settings and revert them back to normal, even after the game is exited. I have to then go back into my gpu cotrol panel and set it back to what I had it originally.

This has happened with 2 different graphics cards, Nvidia and AMD both using their gpu display settings panel. Which would be Nvidia Control Panel, and AMD Cataclysm/Crimson Control Panels. Also with different drivers. The games I've had issues with are Fallout 4, Warhammer Vermintide, and now Ghost in the Shell Online. So I don't know if its an issue just for me or if that's just how games are being made now to use their brightness settings to override mine. Any thoughts?

1) Power troubleshooter did not find any issues.

2) I was able to update the drivers, which helped somewhat: Now the brightness STILL DOES decrease when I view a darker-colored window. When I switch to a bright colored window, the brightness doesn't bump back up immediately (unless I use my manual override
of "knock down the brightness one grade, and then increase it again", but it does increase
eventually.

However, I am still disappointed. Is there any way to completely and finally prevent my screen from changing its brightness
unless I explicitly and manually instruct the screen to do so?

 

n82 VERY LOW brightness!

hi, I've just purchased a n82 and the first thing I noticed is the display backlight:

it's TOO LOW!

and the strange thing is that it's not a hardware limitation: brightness is software locked to about 50% of its full potential (with brightness setting slider set to 100%)..

it's very very low compared to n95 or n73 or ANY other symbian phone..

I found it being a software limitation because I tried to install SYGIC (which has an "internal" software brightness controller which I think temporarily overrides the system one) and the screen suddenly became VERY VERY BRIGHT.

if I try to open other applications (or just to open menu screen) while sygic is on background the brightness does not change, but when i close sygic everything sadly returns dark!

updating phone FW did not solve this problem.

and no, my phone is not broken: every other n82 I've seen does the same.

any suggestion on how to fix the brightness? maybe a 3rd party patch-app?

brightness limitation is also noticeable activating silent mode on your phone and calling it: the screen starts blinking with FULL brightness.
