Windows 10: Screen Dims When I Turn Away Windows 11 [Solution]

I've sifted through many posts asking this same question without resolution. Well, I found the solution! It is actually in the power settings. Go to System---> Power & Battery---> Screen, sleep & hibernate timeouts---> Turn off my screen when I leave. The third box down states "Dim my screen when I look away". Click the toggle switch to the right off and voila! Problem solved. You're welcome, I hope this helps!!

How to dim screen?

I tried googling Windows Ten, "how to dim screen," but the layout listed is not the layout I have. I just got Ten yesterday. How do you dim the screen?

I can't even find the options in the Display section.

 

Recovery, Downloaded New Win 11 from cloud, erased all personal files. Screen still dims and brightens?

I am at a loss. I was having a screen dim, bright issue. Even when hibernating the screen would turn off and on. I thought the solution would be Recovery, new cloud download for Win 11, and deleted all personal files. It has just near completed my setup of country and keyboard, etc and the dim / bright is already there?

I would suggest you first try to Disable adaptive brightness. Please follow the steps below carefully:

1. Click the taskbar button for Windows 11’s Search tool.

2. Enter the keyword edit power plan within the search box.

3. Click Edit power plan to bring up the Edit Power Plan Control Panel applet.

4. Click the Change advanced power settings option.

5. Double-click Display in the Power Options window.

6. Then double-click Enable adaptive brightness.

7. Toggle off both the On battery and Plugged in adaptive brightness settings.

8. Press the Apply button on the Power Options window.

9. Click OK to exit to close the Power Options window.
