Windows 10: Screen extension not working properly

Hi, My Dell XPS 9510, on Windows 11, never worked correctly with external monitors regarding screen extension. At the moment it doesn't work, even though I am forcing it. Somethimes it goes crazy and after that when I turn the PC solely the screen doesn't work, only when I connect the monitor again. I can only solve the issue after restarting multiple times. This can happen any time I plug the monitor in or just lock the screen and try to work again.

Suggest you to plug in an external keyboard to check if that helps.

Follow these steps to launch the On-screen keyboard:

  Press Windows key + R to get the run window.
  
• 
  Type “osk” and hit enter to launch the On-screen keyboard and check if this helps.

Windows 10 infinite restart black screen


The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.

Hotkeys not working properly while chrome is running.

Could you please help me with the below information:

1. Are you using a USB keyboard or Wireless keyboard?
2. Are you aware of making any changes to the computer prior to the issue?

I suggest you to follow the steps mentioned below:

Method 1: Install Package and Driver.

I would suggest you to go through the article from the manufacturer which talks about
‘The hot keys on Notebook are not functioning properly’.Follow
the step mentioned for Mute/adjust volume.

Method 2: Disable the extensions.

1. Launch Google Chrome and go to settings.
2. Select Tools> go to Extensions.
   
3. Click the ‘Keyboard Shortcuts’ link at the bottom of the page.
   
4. Search for Google Play Music section.
5. Change the option from ‘In chrome’ to ‘Global’ and vice versa.
   

Method 3: Enable Google Chrome.

1. Press ‘Shift+Ctrl+Esc” at the same time on your keyboard, this will open the task manager.
   
2. Go to startup Tab, check for Google chrome.
3. If it is disabled, select the google chrome option and click on
   Enable.

If none of the methods worked, I would suggest you to uninstall and reinstall Google chrome, or Try connecting a different keyboard and check if it works.
