    Screen flickering in windows 10


    My device is msi gf63. I started having screen flickering issues when i was updating the Nvdia graphics driver via the geforce experience app. I hadn't finished the update. The problem started while i was in the middle of the process. The display starts flickering once i boot up the system and it goes on endlessly. Its not flickering constantly, but on a one second loop. it flickers and then goes back to normal and then flickers again. The system as a whole is working fine. I tried rolling back the nvidia driver update, uninstalled and reinstalled an older version. Didn't work. I then uninstalled both intel and nvidia drivers and let windows reinstall them through the windows update. didn't work. I even tried a system restore to an earlier point. none gave a positive result. At this point i am honestly confused whether this is a software issue or a hardware trouble. My pc is always on my table. never moved it. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    I haven't made any changes on my device. This screen flickering is only happening in Safe Mode.

    Screen flickering can be caused by hardware or application issue.

    To better assist you, please answer the following questions:

    • Is the issue only happening in Safe Mode?
    • Have you made any changes on your device prior to the issue?

    Screen flickering in safe mode help!

    Hi Yasmeentq,

    Thank you for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    I understand your query. I suggest you to follow the steps to get out of safe mode.


    • Press Windows key + R

    • Type msconfig

    • In msconfig > Boot tab >
      Boot Options > uncheck Safe Boot > APPLY / OK.
